About Me

My name is Paige Johnston. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing virtual therapy in California and Georgia. I graduated from California Lutheran University with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in trauma, with specialized training in trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions for individuals impacted by adverse experiences.

I work with adults navigating burnout, attachment wounds, relationship conflict, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who appear capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected in their relationships.

I am especially experienced in working with adults who struggle with codependency, anxious attachment, and patterns of over-functioning in relationships. This includes support to individuals and families impacted by addiction, including those in recovery from substance use and loved ones trying to understand how to set healthy boundaries while still caring deeply.

I also specialize in working with adults managing ADHD — particularly high-achieving women and mothers who feel chronically overwhelmed, scattered, or behind. ADHD can intensify emotional reactivity, relationship strain, and burnout, especially in motherhood. Many of the women I work with love their families deeply but feel exhausted, resentful, or ashamed that they “can’t keep up.” Together, we address executive functioning challenges, nervous system regulation, and the attachment patterns that often fuel overcompensating and depletion.

My approach integrates attachment-based therapy with relational and practical strategies, helping clients break repetitive cycles, reduce burnout, build secure connections, and move toward healthier, more sustainable ways of living and relating.

My Approach

I help adults, couples, and families who are ready to break free from patterns that keep them stuck, whether it’s attachment wounds, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, burnout, or ADHD-related struggles. I know that deciding to start therapy can feel daunting, and it’s natural to be skeptical. You might have tried therapy before, or worried that talking won’t really change anything. That’s exactly why I focus on creating a mindfulness-based, relational approach that meets you where you are.

In our work together, you will have a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore past experiences and the ways they continue to shape your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. I guide clients in recognizing the patterns that fuel frustration, isolation, and exhaustion, and support them in rebuilding secure, fulfilling connections with themselves and with others. My goal for our sessions is for you to feel like you are talking to your most trusted companion, and to avoid the stuffy-clinical detached “and how does that make you feel” feeling.

I specialize in helping high-functioning adults, mothers feeling burned out, individuals navigating life transitions, and those in recovery or impacted by addiction find clarity, resilience, and a sense of emotional balance. My goal is not just to help you cope, but to help you thrive. My goal is for you to feel grounded in you relationships, confident in your choices, and more connected to the joy and fulfillment you deserve.
